Bottom Line Improvements

INCREASING MANAGEMENT CAPACITY TO:
DEVELOP TEAMS TO DELIVER SUSTAINABLE BOTTOM-LINE IMPROVEMENTS

Have you ever considered how to unleash the passion, skills and talent of your management team in a way that focuses them on accomplishing the very most important issues facing your organization? Do you see the hidden talent in your management team, including your front line managers, and wonder how to develop them into leaders?

While practicing accounting at the Eugene office of Coopers & Lybrand LLP, Scott Purcell experienced first hand a culture of participative management. The office had a gain-sharing program, and a committee that was a sounding board for employee suggestions on how to improve morale, how to improve client satisfaction, how to increase profits, and how to be more efficient in processes. Because of this program most of the employees in that office thought like owners; they were engaged and constantly on the lookout for ways to improve results. The benefit of this was a sharing in the profits from the improvements—and the office was always in the top 3 most profitable offices in the United States for its peer group.

What Scott learned from this was the power of purposefully engaging the team, and setting up culture to have a continuous improvement and the amazing results impacting profits and client satisfaction. When everyone behaved with the mindset of an owner it created a great sense of accomplishment, and a very high sense of pride and responsibility for results.

In Scott’s consulting career he desperately wanted to find a way to create this culture in other organizations so they too could see increased results on a sustained basis. He desired to find a program that would be effective in establishing this same “ownership” mindset and pride from excelling at focusing on identifying and exceeding customer expectations—and the related financial rewards that come from being better than the competition. He found that program in Measurable Management®. The R2 Group is a licensee of Measurable Management® and independently facilitates their 10-session program, with guaranteed results.

The program has a high emphasis on learning in a number of different ways including in-class assignments, and at-work assignments which both reinforce the learning and accomplish results at the same time.

What sets it apart from other programs such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma is the strong leadership and communication skills it builds in addition to the technical process improvement skills. Repetition during the session reinforces these behaviors—and the last three sessions are presentations by the participants sharing the successful ideas they’ve implemented and sharing the detailed way in which these ideas have contributed toward helping the organization solve it’s top three business issues, including a calculation of the impact to the bottom line.

Measurable Management® can be used in both corporate and public and not-for-profit settings to accomplish any number of goals.
